Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I have wonderful memories of times spent with family and friends. And once again I am reminded of all that I have to be thankful for. We serve an amazing God who treats me much better then I ever deserve and with much grace and mercy! I am grateful for all of you who so faithfully support my ministry and make it possible for me to be here and I am thankful for my faithful friends and family who love me and care for me! What a blessing to be part of the family of God.
Todays Thanksgiving was a little different then most. I celebrated with Josh and Marda and the girls. Marda had ordered a turkey that was suppose to be delivered to the store yesterday. When she went, it hadn't come in and she was told it might come in Thursday or Friday late morning.... A little bit a problem. There wasn't another turkey in the store. So, we had chicken. Welcome to Thanksgiving in Africa :) The girls were afraid Thanksgiving would be ruined but it wasn't because when it gets down to it- its really not about the food.
Oh, and due to the fact that there is no such thing as pumpkin in a can, I made my first pumpkin pie completely from scratch and it was pretty good and pretty easy. I still need to figure out how to make my crusts look pretty though. Any suggestions???

Happy T-day....I"m so glad ou get to share it with family!
I would offer up my brilliant solution to your pie quandary, but that would involve a little place called Marie Callendar's...
Did you make your pie out of S.A.'s pumpkins? Did it taste the same? Seeing as I am not incredibly domestic I have no advice for your pie crusts. In fact, you could probably give me advice in that area! :) Glad you had a good day with your family.
Love, Jen
